When I broke in as a screenwriter about a decade ago, I started a running document of script principles that's evolved over the years. Basically, reminders to myself. A lot of writers would disagree w/ some of them, but for better or worse, it's the foundation of my sensibility.
I'm in a sort of meta mood right now since (knock on wood) a deal should be closing soon and I'll be gearing myself up to create what I'm hoping to be my next show. So I'm trying to think and feel through the infrastructure of the storytelling.
Since these script principles seems to be getting passed around a bit, here's a link to my show DAMNATION, in case you're curious whether or not I'm actually practicing what I self-preach: https://www.netflix.com/title/80176771
