2 Lessons from an electric skateboard

// * Thread * //
1) You Do Not Arrive

My first e-board ride, I fell off.

3 times.

I wasn't going any faster than 15 MPH.

Fast forward 2 months, I was zooming down hills.

Over 30 MPH.
It took me:

- 3 rides to get comfortable with flat roads

- a month to get comfortable with large hills

None of that shit was overnight and it was a skateboard.

Your dreams aren't any different.
You work from level to level.

With repetition, it will click.

Once it clicks, it'll feel like you're on autopilot.

It's not an outcome you magically arrive at.
2) Private Victory Comes First

My first ride, I road at night.

I didn't want my peers to see me bust my ass.

Few months later, I was riding whenever & wherever.
If you suck at something, chances are you won't like doing it.

Don't let that stop you.

Work on it in private.

No external judgement, no peer pressure.

Stick with it and cultivate that competence.
Repetition is how you get the private victory.

From there, you're eager to shine in the public.

They won't know your private battle.

But that's okay.
Enjoy your journey.

I hope it's as fun as my board rides :)

Cheers, my friend.
