Fascists get so mad about deplatforming not just because it works, but because a society that refuses to humor bullshit threatens the entire right-wing enterprise.
This includes conservatives within, for example, the Democratic Party. Think about how much bullshit conservative Democrats humor from Republicans. In their minds they have to, because if they didn’t, they might be next.
Make no mistake, there is room for a wide array of legitimate political philosophies. Conservatism simply is not among them.
