2/ If the Biden Administration fails to pursue full accountability for crimes & unethical actions of the Trump administration & the GOP, where appropriate, then the message to this country & the world is that we don't care; that U.S. politics is as corrupt as the worst anywhere.
3/ This contrived posturing of some fantastical 'better man' philosophy depends on refusing to honestly acknowledge the depth and breadth of damages done, homes & jobs & lives lost, military killed for bounty, political & private fortunes made through graft & crime.
4/ Notice who makes these suggestions, and realize that he or she is very likely to NOT be someone who has suffered the effects, and who likely DOES have an interest in maintaining the traditional model of politics & discourse.
5/ Norms, supposedly common courtesies, expectations for process & behavior, ALL need to be examined & assessed for utility & viability. Laws - clear & concise - with significant consequences for violation thereof, need to replace these ineffective relics.
6/ One of these laws must be that the President and all other government officials - incl Justices, Congress people, agency leaders, etc. - are NOT above the law at any time, in any way.
7/ Enforcing these laws needs to be swifter, simpler (e.g. lower threshold for suspension from position while investigation takes place) & transparent.
8/ Government MUST be different by the end of the 1st term of the next President, & politics MUST evolve to meet the demands of the reality of 2021 and this century. This won't happen if Dems win elections, and then demure.
9/ Advancement & improvement in government and U.S. society overall won't take place without honest & direct acknowledgement of the failings of our systems that have been laid bare in past 4 years especially, and several years prior.
10/ This is not a genteel debate; it's not a cocktail party discussion; it's not an opportunity for political consultants to build their brands; and it's not a 1st draft for somebody's next book. We have not lived through a time of 'two equal sides'.

Accountability must be foundational to how the country recovers. Otherwise, there are no excuses & no barriers to failure and corruption in the future.
