"Blue Laces" is a coming of age story about teenage girl Crips. We've explored gang culture through the male lens, but I’ve always wanted to see a different perspective of what gang culture looks like for girls and women on screen with fleshed out characters and storylines.

I wrote Blue Laces for the John Singleton contest last year. I didn’t win but kept working on the script. Revised it but kept all of my John Singleton cultural references. Wasn’t sure how I was going to pull it off but one year after rejection we wrapped production on Blue Laces!

Logline: After Kiki loses her brother to violence, she gains three sisters, but must ultimately decide if her newfound sisterhood is all it’s cracked up to be.
