Principals are considering a system of marking your children to keep track of who has had a temperature check and answered the attestation questions. Shades of Nazi Germany...
WCPSS has not provided a safe area to quarantine your children if their temperature is above 100.4 degrees.
Your child WILL be placed in an enclosed room with other children who have temps above 100.4 and a staff member is required to supervise them.

WCPSS does not have enough PPE and many teachers have yet to receive any.
Many staff are considering resignation and the county is denying staff COVID accommodations.
Principals are instructing staff to cheat on attendance to receive funding. Students are being counted that have not shown up to virtual teaching.

Special Education students will receive education from classroom IA’s (formerly TA’s): currently the requirement for an IA position is a High-school Diploma or GED. 2/3
If your child is a virtual academy student they will NOT be allowed to interact with their classmates in the classroom during the school hours per a new WCPSS policy regarding virtual learning. 3/3
If you have a child in Special Education WCPSS is making up new rules regarding the services they provide your student. They are hoping the confusion of COVID provides cover for this.

Many of the policies the county has regarding COVID have not been updated since July of 2020.
If a staff member tests positive they will not be required to provide proof of a negative test to return to work.
Teachers have been supplied 5 face masks that have instructions saying to only wash 15 times.

PAY ATTENTION Preschools have had mask mandates for students reversed. Pre-schoolers will not be required to wear a mask.
Cannot stress how incredibly dangerous this is with an airborne disease.
Classrooms are not being provided with spray disinfectants (per county guidelines) they are being given one or two canisters of wipes and told to request new ones when they run out.
(The County is notoriously slow with fulfilling equipment requests, even before 2020)

Students are now ONLY having temperatures checked at schools (it was supposed to be prior to getting on the bus). Only the student whose temperature is high is being sent home, the classmates they potentially exposed will not be quarantined.
Elementary Schools finally received masks for their students and they were all white and adult sized:

Cleaning Products 12/9/20Pre-School teachers are being told that Oxiviris no longer an approved product or are seeing deliveries of bleach without any explanation.
WCPSS is taking Oxivir out of pre-school classes and replacing it with a bleach solution.
