The Princess Royal today visited @bletchleypark, the principal centre of Allied code-breaking during the Second World War.
#DidYouKnow 75% of the Bletchley Park workforce were women who were required to keep their roles secret until the 1970s, long after the war had finished.

The Princess viewed the Bombe machine, designed by Alan Turing, which broke Enigma. It is widely acknowledged that its development shortened #WW2 by at least two years.
The Princess Royal paid her respects at the memorial commemorating all those who worked @bletchleypark. The memorial was unveiled by Her Majesty The Queen in July 2011.
