An observation:

I am in my early 30s. In my close friendship group, I count at least 3 people in serious depressions because of lockdown. These are young, dynamic people with plans and hopes and lives ahead of them, now staring at the wall
2/ They are single and work in industries where work has all but dried up. And if work does continue, it’s homebound. They don’t have gardens and children and dogs and family time to distract them
3/ Plans to save for a home of their own are over. Life has stalled for all of us. But for those in their 20s, who had already gone some way to building independent lives, watching what they had unravel is crushing. For them, lockdown isn’t a necessary evil. It’s life ending.
So when we talk of protecting the vulnerable, it’s those at the beginning of their lives - for whom there is often the least help - who I’m also thinking of.
