↗️ Although the Kumbh Mela is a spiritual gathering, the economic activities associated with it generated employment for over six lakh workers across various sectors, the CII said in a report.
↗️ The Uttar Pradesh government had allocated Rs 4,200 crore for the 49-day mela this time, which was over thrice the budget of the Maha Kumbh in 2013, making the mega pilgrimage perhaps the costliest ever.
↗️ The hospitality sector aimed at employing 250,000 people, airlines and airports around 150,000 and tour operators around 45,000 people. The employment numbers in eco-tourism and medical tourism were estimated at 85,000, said the CII study.
↗️ Apart from this there were around 55,000 new jobs in the unorganized sector comprising tour guides, taxi drivers, interpreters, volunteers etc.
This lead to increase in income levels for government agencies and individual traders.
↗️ Attracted a massive number of foreign tourists from various countries like Australia, UK, Canada, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa, New Zealand, Mauritius, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka, is it only Indian or a world festival 💖
↗️ Neighbouring states like Rajasthan, Uttarkhand, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh also benefited from the enhanced revenue generation with a large number of national and foreign tourists were expected to explore other destinations.
↗️ The area of the mela was also doubled to 3,200 hectares as compared to 1,600 hectares in the previous melas. This was truly a masterstroke.
↗️ 4,000 tents were erected creating a temporary city, 40,000 LED lights were installed to brighten up each nook and corner of the city.
↗️ Upgradation of nine railways stations and construction of a new airport terminal in Prayagraj.
This is a costly affair, educated people can understand.
↗️ The temporary city for mela area involved 250 km roads and 22 pontoon bridges, which will made it the largest temporary city in the world. Wow!
↗️ 12 crore people were expected to visit the 2019 Kumbh Mela, but the actual figure stood at a staggering 24 crores. 😇
Too much to digest!
Well, #YogiAdityanathji had planned as a visionary by increasing security and services already.
↗️ ICCC integrated command and control centre was setup which included two command and control centres with four viewing centres and 20 video wall cubes, which were connected with 1,135 CCTV cameras installed at 268 locations.
In 2013 Kumbh there were only 85 CCTV cameras 🙄.
↗️ The ICCC had 120 viewing operators and 30 call centre operators engaged. This integrated ICCC will help managed the crowd, maintained heightened surveillance and secured the area in case of any emergency. awesome..
↗️ Deployment of National Security Guard (NSG), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), apart from more than 30,000 personnel of UP Police.
↗️ 20 companies of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), 54 companies of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), 10 companies of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and one of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
↗️ 6,000 Home Guards, 15 teams of dog squads and more than 20 companies of Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad and Anti-Sabotage squad.
↗️ The Kumbh Mela district had been divided into four police lines, which incorporate 40 police stations, three female police stations and 62 police outposts, apart from 40 fire stations.
↗️ The security was almost 3-4 times in scale and quality as compared to the 2013 Kumbh Mela, all thanks to #YogiJi.
↗️ Of the total budget of Rs 4,236 crore approved for the Ardh Kumbh 2019, Rs 84.8 crore had been allotted for construction, development and renovation work of police stations and hostels for the personnel.
↗️ As many as 40 watchtowers had been set up for surveillance and quick response teams (QRT) had been deployed to cover the entire expanse of the Mela area.Jal(water) police had three units in service while mounted police had been deployed to guide the crowd.
↗️ Real-time video analytics were used to manage the areas where crowd swells and 54 holding areas for crowd control had been set up. Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system had also been introduced to track and trace vehicles entering the Mela district. Masterstroke!
↗️ More than 2,000 digital signboards spread across the Mela area informed people about traffic congestion, guide through various routes and warn of emergency situations.
↗️ Dial 100 service of UP Police was available at all hours with a fleet of 50 four-wheeler vehicles and 200 two-wheeler vehicles. This was expected to bring the response time below five minutes in any case of emergency!
Brilliant thinking!
↗️ UP ATS, which had deployed two units of 54 commandos each to guard the Mela area. A mock drill at the tent city was conducted by the ATS commandos on 12 January.
All this because of the intelligence sleuths predicted terror attacks!
But then #UPPolice rocks!
↗️ State of the art weapons, high end motorcycles and a dedicated chopper!
Well bro this ain't a Vin Diesel movie, this is #UP anti terrorism squad under the #YogiJi government!
Such wow, much wow!
↗️ To avoid a accident like 2013 Kumbh were 42 people lost their lives in a stampede, the state disaster management authority was on toes.
↗️ The UP State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) introduced more than 500 buses to bring pilgrims to the Mela district from the Prayagraj town and railway stations.
↗️ Air connectivity to Prayagraj from various cities, including New Delhi, Kolkata, Nagpur, Bhopal, Dehradun, Indore, Bengaluru, Ahmadabad, and Lucknow had also been started after a new civil airport was developed at the Bamrauli Air Force Base in 2018.
Well planned sir!
