What the newspapers aren't screaming about is Arctic sea ice disappearing for the first time by 2028 triggering a sudden destabilisation of the planet’s climate and a rapid acceleration of global warming resulting in catastrophically hostile new conditions for most life on Earth.
1. A recent study from a month or two back suggested 2035 as likely, with 2029 possible. Harvard's James Anderson projected 2022. Some scientists still feel the 2040s is possible/likely but few would predict later. There are signs warming is accelerating... https://twitter.com/ClimateBen/status/1254130113026953216?s=20
3. As the Arctic warms, the jet stream will be increasingly disrupted and extreme weather will hit crops throughout the Northern Hemisphere. Global food insecurity looks likely as we move towards 2°C by 2035-2045.

4. Many experts have said Arctic ice loss will mean profound global consequences. And it would appear there is a growing, informal consensus that this will happen by 2029 - 2044.

Stop emissions by 2025-2029 and end deforestation immediately.

5. How much extra global warming will occur due to Arctic sea ice loss, and how quickly will it hit? Nobody knows, but even the smallest addition will exacerbate the ongoing Ecological Catastrophe, and 0.5°C is almost unthinkable, but far from impossible. https://twitter.com/ClimateBen/status/1264530010599276544?s=20
6. As the world shifts towards a hotter, highly dangerous climate, we must create 'a world where people can stay where they are if they want to' and equip people 'with what they need to be able to migrate if they want or have to.'
