If you're unemployed (or underemployed) and not hearing back from the jobs you're applying to, here's a thread of quick and easy resume fixes to make today that will transform your job search 👇🏾
1) Condense your resume into one page.

A good rule-of-thumb is that you should have one page for every ten years of experience.
2) Move your education to the end of your resume.

When education is at the top of your resume, it immediately signals to readers that you're entry-level, inexperienced, or both.
Push it down, and only include information about your degree (i.e., do not include extracurriculars or coursework).
3) Lead with your professional summary instead.
Focus on your unique value proposition and significant accomplishments.

4) Avoid first-person pronouns (e.g., "I", "we", or "my") at all costs.
Lead each bullet point with a powerful verb instead.

Here's my go-to list of strong action verbs for your resume: https://www.themuse.com/advice/185-powerful-verbs-that-will-make-your-resume-awesome
5) Include a section for hard skills/software.
Include expected hard skills/software proficiencies that you have.

If you see recurring skills that you don't have, take a @LI_learning course and add them to your resume ASAP. This is why I learned @Tableau.
6) Keep your formatting consistent and simple.

Use legible headings and subheadings to guide the reader. Get rid of the fancy colors and graphics, and save it for your personal website or portfolio.

7) Paste your resume into Grammarly to catch any typos or errors.

Microsoft Word doesn't catch all typos and errors, but @Grammarly does. @Grammarly also checks for things like passive voice and sentence clarity.
Grammarly is FREE with an account, but I strongly recommend @Grammarly Premium if it fits in your budget: https://bit.ly/3jLf9mn

8) Add a bullet to each of your roles describing the problem you solved for the company.

Here's an example from the Secure the Job Blueprint bundle:
If done properly, No. 8 alone could help you attract more senior and high-paying roles.
Those are my eight recommended quick fixes that you can make today.
