Time to revisit my findings on Spotify cos this is not ok. No. https://twitter.com/EinsteinsAttic/status/1206939331555934208
There are 218 Third Party Vendors (each with their own privacy policy) defaulted to ON via pre-ticked boxes, that includes consent, special purposes and features.

Consider also, that the 'cookie' consent dialogue is presented even when visiting the Spotify Privacy Policy.
So no, not ok @Spotify
New computer. Another 'privacy' experience from Spotify. 'Consent' defaults set to off but other key defaults that link to 246 third parties ON with no means to change, & for which no legal basis declared.
👇
👆There's also the 'LIST OF PARTNERS (VENDORS). There are 246 third parties listed. ALL pre-ticked to 'allow' consent' - wither #Planet49

The experience also means the privacy policy isn't easily accessible .. need to open the cookie policy then a link to the privacy policy
Let's consider that cookie notice "We Care About Your Privacy" <erm, really? Then why those sneaky defaults?

I wonder how many folks just click ACCEPT COOKIES'? How many click on 'LIST OF PARTNERS' & uncheck consents and 'CONFIRM MY CHOICES'?
Nothing much seems to have changed wrt to some sneaky #darkpatterns I downloaded the installer. As I have an account, straight to 'LOG IN', >account icon & 'settings' >scroll down to 'SHOW ADVANCED SETTINGS' & 'Privacy'

👇THEN
there's the 'privacy' setting HIDDEN under 'SHOW ADVANCED SETTINGS'. The setting relates to 'Block all cookies for this installation of the Spotify desktop app; read mote details here [links to privacy policy https://www.spotify.com/uk/legal/privacy-policy/]' The default is OFF that =advertising tracking
The default is greyed out meaning it is OFF and so enables advertising related tracking. It's a #DarkPattern

If you want to turn the default ON to block cookies then there's the #DarkPattern language of fear ... "Please note that enabling this setting may negatively impact your
your Spotify experience. Changes will apply after restarting your app"

It's important to note that this is a premium account .. I pay for the service with ÂŁÂŁ
If you want to block the use of cookies in the context of the Spotify desktop app, you need to turn on the hidden #DarkPattern default .. ensure it's green
If you do use the Spotify desktop app, & want to control privacy as best you can in 2021, also go to your account via a browser. Check out the 'privacy settings' & 'notification settings'
This isn’t an experience that suggests Spotify cares about your privacy. It’s one that suggests Spotify cares more about $$$$ than your privacy.
