Starting to formulate a theory that I’m tentatively terming “Techno-Crapitalism”: the tyranny of half-broken technology dictating your lives for capitalist gains; immiserating the consumer-user in the process.
Some examples:

You attempt to watch Netflix but the bandwidth is too busy so the programme stalls after ten minutes and you can’t continue. You go out to the shop instead but you can’t enter because they want you to use a contact tracing app and you’re in an internet blackspot.
Refused entry to the mall, you enter a fast food cafe instead. There are no servers because all purchases must now be made from one of the 3 touchscreens, 2 of which are broken. There is a long queue because the magnetic strip on the ATM card of the old woman using it is spoilt.
You go to the toilet. It is full of shit because the sensor-activated flush has been defaced. The lights go off halfway through your shit because they are on an environmentally friendly timer. The regulated tissue dispenser gives you exactly one sheet to wipe your ass.
After leaving your shit in the toilet unflushed you try to wash your hands. You spend five minutes trying to position your hand correctly to get the soap dispenser to work. But then the water doesn’t work. The air dryer emits a weak pathetic blow. You leave with soapy wet hands.
You go back to the fast food place and try to buy food. You have to use your phone to pay but you can’t get your phone to work because you’ve got soapy wet hands.
There are many many more examples, but these are enough to understand the essence of techno-crapitalism AKA our current nightmare.
