while doing research on indicators of fame in the natal chart I came across this interesting theory by Serbian astrologer Nikola Stojanovic, which is: people with their ascendant or ascendant ruler in the 5th degree of a sign are HOT

so let's play HOT OR NOT, Astrology Edition!

we'll use @astroseekcom's phenomenal celebrity search engine to look up Rodden AA rated charts (exact birth time from birth certificate), look at the charts, and decide whether this idea has any merit (and specifically, the type of "hot" Nikola discusses is _eroticism_)

young Kiefer Sutherland was quite attractive with Venus right on the 5 degree Ascendant ruled by Saturn in the 2nd house in Pisces, and I think the dreamy Piscean look definitely comes through (esp. if you browse his images)

Debbie Reynolds (1932-2016) had a 5deg Libra ascendant ruled by Venus in the 8th house of Taurus had a very clean, high-fashion look. interestingly, both she and Kiefer Sutherland have their asc. ruling planet conjunct Chiron. no idea if this is important

Charles Manson has a 5deg Taurus rising ruled by Venus in Scorpio. despite the fact that he was a psychotic mass murderer, he was indeed, extremely alluring in an intense, Scorpionic way and this was also reflected in those cheekbones

I'll say HOT (in terms of the 5deg Asc rule working) because the "modifiers" to appearance are very noticeable in the chart as well.

Liberace has a 5deg Asc in Capricorn with his Saturn in the 8th in Leo, which I think shows through with his broad yet stable Taurean features

tbh _I_ don't think Liberace is _that_ attractive, but according to his wikipedia he was called a sex icon in 1954, so...

I found someone that _I_ think violates the general "look" of these 5deg asc people, Arantxa Sánchez Vicario w/ Cancer Asc. interesting to note that Pluto and Chiron square it, while both True Node and Neptune are inconjunct to it. will need more ex.

NOT CONVENTIONALLY HOT

overall, barring harsh aspects from malefics/outer planets, it does seem like the 5deg Ascendant-ruler idea "works". we did NOT look at Venus/Neptune in 5deg either, but that's worthwhile.

actually one more note for good measure--it's important to keep in mind that browsing celebrities you will naturally get attractive people. and that I went off the path with this a little bit--Nikola specifically says that this is _eroticism_, so it's difficult to know about >

the inner worlds of the people I looked at. if you framed them properly or encountered them in person, you might find the people (I found a few more who are conventionally unattractive) alluring or compelling.
