DM me if you can build something similar to this.
Ok. Now I can attend to this. Nikatafute materials alafu kazi aianze.
So I went to the yard and grabbed some pieces of pallets to be used in constructing the chicken coop.
My kadudu came through big time. It was the mkokoteni 😅
Materials zikafika site safely and construction started.
Contracted the services of these two Kamba men. Si wanajua kazi!

Work in progress. The cage.
Nataka kueka hizi feeders.
Watu wagani wanafuga kuku huku? I need sound advice on which type of chicken to rare.

Kuroiller, kenbro ama the real Kienjeji?

Also, nataka kuweka layers kama 3 for eggs. Will that be fine? Az in, zitakaa vizuri with the local ones?
Pipes and joints for the DIY feeders
Some good work.
The Chicken coop looks awesome. Ready for occupation 😅
I sourced Kuroilers from my mum. 11 in number - 1 mature jogoo, 2 mature hens and the rest ni some weeks old.

Nimeita these two Brian and Millie 😅
The DIY feeders haven't been fixed properly yet so I had to tilt them ndio feeds zisimwagike. (I'll be sure to share the final photos.) However, they are coming through already.
They have adapted well.
The ladder...
.. and nesting boxes.
Looks good.
I joined the pipes and this is the final look for the feeders...Minimal waste of feeds is where it's at.
What I wanted vs What I have
An egg !!! The first one !!! I'm excited !!! – bei Imara Daima
And this morning we picked another egg. I'm happy.
Woke up to clean the chicken coop and got two lid-full of waste. This definitely goes to the shamba.
Greens treat for them. These pilipili hohos and dhanias had overstayed in the fridge.
The chicken are very good waste managers.
Nothing goes to waste in the house because remnants are fed to them.
Kazi ni kuokota mayai nikifika mtaani
Withered leaves from the shamba for dinner
😅🐔🐓
These kukus are heavy feeders so Millie supplements the commercial feeds with potato peelings from a nearby cafe.
She boils them zikue soft...
..and mixes them with kidogo feeds.

Nimezipandia hapo mint na lemongrass for some good scent. I'll definitely add more herbs there and let them grow into a bush.

We named this one Sheila. Tulirudi tukapata ameanza kulalia mayai. Marked all of them ndio tudifferentiate between the fresh ones that may be laid there and the ones she's sitting on.
Decided to make a double decker laying/sitting nest for them. The one on the right is called Shosho 😂
Treats for the kukus
Outdoor chilling nikihesabu mali. There's one we are to slaughter soon 🐓

We had planted some nice flowers here but kuku ni nani. Soon replanting them niweke hadi nyasi.
