Ok so I’ll do my thread today on the FAA 107 drone license. This thread will consist of the drone industry, why you should get a license, the future of drones and applications of what you can do with drones so yeah let us begin
So why should you care about the drone industry. For starters it’s a 30 billion industry as of this year and it’s predicted to be a 100 billion dollar industry within the next 4 years so yes there’s money to be made with drones but let me dive deeper
What is the FAA 107 drone license. Simply put its a license that allows for a person to fly their drone commercially aka for a job or for business. If you’re just flying for recreational purposes only you wouldn’t need one but for this thread you will.
As you may or may not know amazon just got the approval from the FAA for them to be approved to have drones flying in the sky for them. If amazon thinks theres a future with drones why wouldn’t u?
Anyways I’m start going into the type of applications you can do with a drone. So I’ll start with the most basic ones and get more sophisticated as I continue down this thread. So the first application for a drone is photography/videography. This means just taking photos
With your drones. This can Include residential photos or just aerial photos of a wedding for example. Real basic stuff nothing too fancy.

Next is Mapping and modeling photogrammetry is the most common method of mapping/modeling because it could be used with a lot of drones
With this method the drones fillies a preprogrammed path and takes a series of photos of an area or structure. These photos are tagged with location and altitude date from the drones GPS as well as camera angles etc etc. there’s a lot that can go into land surveying
Next we got Commerical inspections which can be used for different things such as solar roofing and power transmission. Super basic stuff nothing complex yet
Drones in agriculture:
These drones can basically be used in determining the health of certain crops and identifying areas in need of water insecticide etc etc now I’ll start to take about the really fun stuff
Theres certain attachments that you can hook up to a drone that will allow you to do thing such as scam for thermal readings and allow you to do things such as scam the air for radon gas or like some poison it will allow you to determine the elevations of land etc etc
It’s some really crazy shit and I would go into it more but this thread is already long as hell and I’ll make a part 2 other time but this attachment to the drone would be way too expensive to buy and would be something you’d have to rent.
Anyways why should you care about what drones can do. It’s because big companies will@pay you to have you do things with your drone that a person who doesn’t have their license can not. I met someone who made 50k in 7 days doing a inspection for a multi million dollar company.
No I won’t tell you what they did but it just goes to show that the drone industry is still growing and that you can capitalize on this wave between now and the next 4 years.
