Today’s read has been the sexy, Icelandic and impossible to pin down ‘Moonstone: the boy who never was’ by Sjón (translated by Victoria Cribb) - which, fittingly, is set during the 1918 Spanish flu epidemic & so feels very close to home. #amreading #novellathon
Number 4 in my October #novellathon has been Becky Chambers’ science fiction masterpiece, ‘To Be Taught If Fortunate’: a book that questions our right to scientific exploration, our responsibilities to seek knowledge, and ask us to look to the universe for answers. #amreading
Book 5: ‘The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly’, by Sun-mi Hwang (translated by Chi-young Kim). A tender story about a hen who longs for more, with all the cosy feeling & danger of a fairy tale. #novellathon #amreading
Today’s novella has been H P Lovecraft’s sci-fi/ horror adventure, ‘At the Mountains of Madness’, following the discoveries of an ill-fated Antarctic expedition. #novellathon #amreading

Aaaand finally, half a day late but very much worth the wait, book number 31, and the last in my October #novellathon: ‘Such Small Hands’ by Andrés Barba (translated by Lisa Dillman). #amreading
