I’m gonna start listening to LPs instead of podcasts while working and do a photo thread of them. Starting with this Pharoah Sanders live bootleg: 07/18/71, Nice, France
Private-press shape-note gospel quartet from my home, the Shenandoah Valley. Purchased in a junk store in Thomas, WV
Discussing my love of Folkways Records w @glamourbeefs, of course I had to play this, one of my fave records ever
Nighttime edition: doing the dishes to the new @PranaCrafter LP
Can’t be 100% sure but I think this is signed...with Bessie’s address and phone number too! I really love this record
Realizing flipping records all day is not sustainable, so this is the last of the morning...dreaming of a better world with Roy Orbison
Got to share some bills w/ these legends in the mid 2k’s. @buckgooter has a great new song out today, it made me want to hear some of the deep cuts (Consider The Grackles, 2012). Would’ve *loved* to hear what Terry Turtle thought about trump getting COVID! RIP!

Love this @BillMacKay68 record
Weekend edition: making some pancakes for Bre to this. An off-brand live record, but my fav Nina LP I have. Firey versions. Nina Simone is a hero!
Sunday farmer’s market unpacking to Felt, inspired by @JSpacewoman
Not actually the day’s first record (I listened to Van Halen again). Love this album, Marisa Anderson is a hero! Cover art looks like it should be a GBV record to me haha
Nighttime edition: if you follow me on here I’m gonna assume you realize how good Thin Lizzy is (if not, start now). Long ago for me Thin Lizzy was a lesson in how poorly preconceived notions serve you as a music person. One of the most artful rock bands ever, flawless discog
RSD 2020 remote score...got online at 10AM sharp haha...more than a Grateful Dead footnote to me, I love Seastones. Still want the original LP...I love that cover art!
Of course I have all these! I think @bestshow4life is coming back. I really hope it is. Either way, thanks @scharpling and @jonwurster for making comedy that never fails to make me feel good even though I’ve listened to every sketch a hundred times. (Playing the live album now)
Thanks @andrewweathers for very sweetly sending me these 3 private press jams! Gonna listen to them all this AM. Guerry Matthews up first, loving her rendition of “Shenandoah”, which always makes me think of home
As mentioned yesterday. This is a great record. One of the few LPs I have where this is my dad’s copy
Musical taste is very personal. For some reason I’d rather listen to Korn or w/e than a Sturgill Simpson bluegrass record, which I have seen a ton of tweets about today. As an antidote, I put this on, which isn’t bluegrass either
1970’s DIY power pop. Shoes - Black Vinyl Shoes. This record is insanely good, the sound is timeless. I was introduced to it by the vinyl rip MP3 blog Holy Warbles...one of the best in the game!
Great LP from @p3even_stalmer that I was lucky enough to hear in various stages of completion
Talking Nina Simone w/ @glamourbeefs I had to put this on. She really takes over these cover versions. The only artist to appear twice in my LP thread so far I think
First appearance on this thread for Bob. Probably my favorite musician and he made the first song I ever knowingly loved...”Man In The Long Black Coat” from his 1989 album Oh Mercy. JWH is among my favs of his records
Inspired by @sonicdork ‘s 4 year long “Candle In The Wind”/trump admin personnel turnover joke which I have loved every one of
My fav @ElkhornMusic record yet...committed a flagrant sleeve bend getting out of the shrink wrap!
Seriously pretty record from @buckcurran love this one! My LP listening has been down a bit since Friday, I have been hooked on the new Future/Lil Uzi Vert album haha
I do like the electric one but this is actually my favorite @ElkhornMusic record...I got confused trying to buy it last bandcamp day so thanks Jesse for hooking me up!
Got this for my wife for Christmas, she has been getting deep into Arthur Russell this year. I’m just digging in myself
My own record, “Leather Jacket b/w Don’t Move In”, lathe cut 7” released years back by @tapesandtubes

The 1st @EiderdownSounds record I think
Love this record, my fav @FrankHurricane so far. Love the cover art by @turndaddy1776 too. “Balsam Babe” is a concise choogle for the ages
Got this Columbia blues comp in a dollar bin and one of two LPs was switched w/ a Robert Johnson collection. Jamming that
Not listening yet because I don’t have a CD player w/ my stereo setup, so I need to get the tracks on my phone/ipod...but I’m pumped
Entering the stream w/ @PranaCrafter
Building a mountain w/ @andrewweathers ensemble...having a chill morning with some great recent LPs
I’m not the biggest fan of brit-folk (blasphemy I know) but at some point as the 60’s gave way to the 70’s, they started rocking rhythm sections that sounded like Danko/Helm and made some of my favorite records ever
The man was covered at the inauguration. All you fascists are bound to lose...it can’t be said enough
My good friend and key MF band member @Zevon_Badfellow works pressing LPs at a record plant in Harrisonburg, VA. He sent me some samples of their recent output, this one slaps
Private press hours - Doc Watson-esque flat picking action, “Guitar” by Dudley Hill. 1970’s maybe 80’s. Seattle, WA
New one from @osrtapes is great
Me and @glamourbeefs were talking about this movie
