I talk a lot about Lampard's terrible tactical side but I think it's time we took a look at his terrible management. From transfers to selections to player relationships to youth development this guy has really messed up because of his experience.
I'll start with his team selections. Lampard has played at least 5 formations since he joined with the most recent being a 3-2-5 (1 CB and 3 strikers). He doesn't know his best starting XI, there isn't one consistent starter in the team, besides, well.... Mount.
That brings me to my next point. Lampard will constantly force Mount into the team for no reason. Playing him as a #10 is fair if you rate Mount, but playing him on the wings over CHO and Pulisic? Not to mention playing Mount out of position affects him too. Not just Mount...
Lampard is constantly playing players out of position in ways that dont even make sense! RLC, Werner, Havertz, Mount are constantly forced to play in different positions. This and change of formations/selections affects chemistry in a bad way.
Against West Brom, Silva played as a left CB and Christensen on the right when both of them are better on opposite sides.
He also has weird relationships with players. The most obvious one is Mount who started 50+ games last season despite... offering absolutely nothing the majority of the time. Another weird situation is Lampard's treatment of Giroud. He was being pushed out last season...
...in January but the board wanted him to stay. Later when he was given a run of games he delivered, saving Lampard on multiple occasions. His attitude was brilliant. I only care about his football performances (which were great) but for passion merchants like Lampard...
.. his attitude was brilliant. Come next season Giroud once again gets benched. But this time instead of being benched by Tammy or even 50m Werner he's benched for RLC and Havertz who both moved out of position to play striker.
Tammy wasn't good at all in recent times, but it was all forgotten when he played well vs a Championship side (same game Giroud scored as well). He then started the next game over Giroud only to return to his old lame self.
Another mystery is Pulisic. He's always injured with Mount taking his place. But there isnt enough info on that matter for either side to defend/criticize Lampard. I will just say its very suspicious
In Lampard's recent interview he backs Kepa, it's not the first time. Just a while later we hear that he bullied Alonso after the West Brom game in the dressing room and wants him out....
Sacking Lampard isn't the end of our problems. He's signed players who will be a burden to the next managers. No matter how highly you rate Havertz, not every manager wants a player of his type. Werner is the 3rd class left winger we will have. No, hes not a striker.
Ziyech, a left footed winger signed when our starting RB for the next generation never provides width on the right wing. How can they coexist? Silva is literally 36. He wants to sign Declan Rice for 80m when we have a similar and better player in Ampadu??
Inexperience really shows in all these cases. If it's not his terrible football that will get him sacked it will be these terrible decisions. #LampardOUT
