I respect Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji a lot. I am not criticizing Vajpayee but keeping facts in front of Flowers who criticize @ncbn.

The deal was that Lakshmi Parvati will contest fewer seats in parliamentary elections and in Assembly BJP has to contest fewer seats. That is the reason why even though NTR-TDP got more percentage of votes in 1996 she agreed to contest only 4 seats. 2/n
Their campaign is more on TDP and @ncbn rather than on Congress in Andhra. After BJP got 4 seats in elections and they got those 4 seats because of NTR-TDP they dumped Lakshmi Parvati and took the support of Nara Chandrababu Naidu. 3/n
It is not TDP that went to BJP for an alliance but it is BJP which came to TDP for an alliance in 1999. On March 9, 1998 this came

Also, another important thing here is BJP has entered into alliances with parties that have in the past opposed its ideological positions. Just like how they aligned with PDP now.
