Here is a Juan Espino appreciation thread ahead of his return tomo! #UFCFightIsland #UFC253

The Spanish HW's career has spanned TUF, Gi & No-Gi Grappling, Senegalese Wrestling, Kabaddi, & Sambo.

But lets start with Canarian Wrestling, unique to his home of the Canary Islands.
Espino's travels brought him to Senegal where he competed amongst the giants of Senegalese Wrestling or Lutte sénégalaise.

Here the Spaniard became known as The White Lion.
He has an impressive World Grappling medal haul- 6xđŸ„‡ 1xđŸ„ˆ 2xđŸ„‰.

His first gold was winning the 2011 absolute def. three-time all-American Kelly Anundson.

In 2012 he finished 2nd to Jeff Monson in No-Gi losing by a single point.

Here is his last gold medal win from 2016.
Espino ventured into pro MMA in 2009. His second pro fight (below) came in 2010 and he showed off an array of attacks including strikes, knees, headkicks, takedowns, slams and submissions.

He would go onto amass a 9-1 record and win season 28 of TUF.
Espino also dabbled in Sambo along the way...
And the 39-year-old has also tried his hand at the unique & wild contact sport called Kabaddi, of course he did!!
Tomorrow night at #UFC253 Espino returns after a two-year layoff and will face American Jeff Hughes (10-3 MMA, 0-3 UFC), former LFA heavyweight champion.
