There’s a popular saying.

It's the key to a better You.

It's related to Newtonian physics.

The best part? You've likely done it before.

// A THREAD //
Have you ever been out and about before?

Only to say to yourself:

"I may as well do _____ while I'm already out."
𝐊𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞.

Your brain loves doing that.

But why?
Your brain is always optimizing.

Finding a way to:

- get more done
- derive more pleasure

While exerting less energy.

That's why it loves a good shortcut.
The shortcut here is stacking.

Since you're already out, you don't have to:

- Get dressed
- Scramble to find your keys
- Start your car up

To take care of this additional task.
If you want it to STICK

Then STACK it.

Don't be like me waking up at 7 AM

Walking across my campus in the winter JUST for the gym
Take an action that's part of your daily routine:

- The drive to work

- The trip to the bus stop

- The walk to class

Pair it with your desired action.
Walking home from a college class?

→ Hit the gym on the way

Have a long commute?

→ Pop that audiobook in

Walk to the corner store on your lunch break?

→ Get 25 lunges in on the way
Please, do not fall for that:

- Discipline is everything

- You just need more motivation

- You're just not committed enough
Your peers are failing to create a better version of themselves by buying into this.

To perform a new action, you either:

- increase the force
- lower the cost

The former isn't optimal over time.
You've had those days where you just aren't feeling it.

So, your brain abandons that eventually.
Listen to Newton instead:

An object in motion tends to stay in motion.

Your daily routine - that job, that class - already puts you in motion.

The force required for other tasks is now lower.
You already have bricks laid down.

Thanks to your daily routine.

Now, stack on the foundation.

Build that better You.
