I promised a little thread on leisure centre postcards a while back - they aren't quite as, erm, "thrilling" as the shopping centres. However, we start with my two favourites - first up is Swansea:
And I am a big fan of this one - Morden Baths (recently demolished) as I used to have swimming lessons there! The building opened in 1967:
The faintest hint of POMO at Hawick
Rhyl - strong B&Q vibe with this one
Milngavie - with added library!
And finally - Barnstaple!
While we are resurrecting threads, here are a few more leisure centres, starting with the thrills of indoor bowling in Bletchley:
A glorious roof and logo for the Marina Centre, Great Yarmouth:
Another view of the Marina Centre with an interesting tower behind:
And finally for now, Felixstowe!
Hours of jump-suited fun to be had under the harsh neon glare of the Friary Grange Sports Centre, Lichfield:
Tip: mention @twtextapp on a Twitter thread with the keyword “unroll” to get a link to it.
