Ive really had enough this being common so i decided to make a thread on why not sourcing mods you post is bad

Most of the time when reposts occur, the tweet can vary on if it benefits the mod creator or if it harms them, here is a guide for that to tell the difference
Another thing incredibly common with reposts is comments about quality, so im going to address that as well
getting back onto the topic, a common excuse is not being able to find it. So heres some helpful tips for that.
4. "i see a repost uncredited, what do i do?"
Try and find it yourself with the tips above and bring it to the attention of the original poster, try to make sure they see it on the post and it grabs their attention. Please kindly ask them to credit-

the original mod creator. If they refuse to because "it looks like it isn't much effort" that is a horrible excuse, point back to part 1 and 2
This stuff is JUST AS BAD AS STEALING FANART, NOT LESS, NOT MORE, EQUAL! CREDIT COUNTS!

I'll eventually add more to this if this keeps going on, please be sure to link this thread to anyone who posts uncredited, it would mean alot for many modders, thank you!
Another thing i forgot to add:
before asking someone to source PLEASE make sure they aren't the actual mod maker posting their own work, check and make sure its a reposter
and when you're 100% confident then source & ask them to credit

"the mod creator doesn't want reposts but there is a popular one floating around, what do i do?"
show them evidence of the mod maker not wanting reposts, and ask them to retweet any of the creator's progress-tweets if available (be sure to link them it)

if they don't delete it, bring it to the attention of the mod creator and ask them to talk about it with the reposter. Hopefully then they might be more keen on deleting it
If worst case-scenario they refuse after: keep asking them to delete it, don't harass but ask more

"Do rom hacks count too?"
Yes, 100% rom hacks also count for the same premise.

"ok but outside of that why are reposts bad exactly"
uncredited reposts usually lead to
- demotivation from clout-theft
- less people acknowledging the original creator
- confusion about who actually made it
- people thinking that you're the creator (which is very, VERY bad)
