They keep insisting that the Black “voting bloc” has all this power in deciding the election, yet nothing is being done to attract its support.
So while I hear everyone saying “vote because xyz” not a single fucking person is mentioning the material conditions that will be changed by casting the ballot.
And if there are NONE, as it is being discussed as a matter of life and death, HOW THE FUCK DO YOU DEMAND MY PARTICIPATION?!
People are telling us to “leverage” whatever the fuck they imagine as power over officials who have explicitly stated they do not give a damn what their detractors say.
Where is the power in capitulating to the demands of fascists as more pressure has been placed on poor and working class Black people every single step of the way?
We are being placed under the pressure of having to carry the “load” of our “ancestors expectations” and still provide for ourselves and our families. The vote isn’t affecting the rent being due on the 1st.
It isn’t curtailing the education system ushering our children into the prison industrial complex— AND DON’T YOU DARE FUCKING LIE AND SAY IT IS.
It’s not bringing back anyone we lost to covid, nor is it promising healthcare to anyone who is still here.
People are hungry, out of work and living in a police state. The fascism people lie about being abundant in “far off” countries is thriving right in your fucking faces every day.
So do you know why this “bloc” has no power? Because they’ve been telling us who to vote for and how to vote all this time. And they don’t respect you or me enough to engage in earnest discussions with the Black people their politics undermine and destroy.
So they parade the Black celebrity class before us and say “where they lead, your Black ass better follow.” What power exists in a bloc taking political cues from the politically clueless?
They can’t get you shit. They don’t need what you need. Their kids aren’t getting harassed everyday. How can you follow them, as they endorse ANY-FUCKING-BODY? When do you get to be consulted on what matters deserve your consideration and political action?
Y’all see these fucking major parties acting exactly like those old ass white men in Trading Places. Are you seriously gonna keep being a part of their game?
