I bet you didn't know about a farm agitation from a couple of days back in Solapur.

Here's what happened:-

A sugar factory owes about Rs. 30 crore to its sugarcane farmers for the past four years. Double the amount of what Rhea was falsely accused of siphoning.
The factory also owes Rs. 8 crore to its workers and retired employees.

Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatna gathered over hundred farmers and staged a one day protest in front of the factory.

The factory is run by Ranjitsinh Mohite-Patil, who defected to BJP from NCP in 2019.
Ranjitsinh belongs to the influential Mohite-Patil family.

His grandfather, Shankarrao, is credited with starting the cooperative movement in drought prone Solapur district.

His father, Vijaysinh, is with NCP, and is the former Deputy CM of Maharashtra
Until 2018, Ranjitsinh's cousin brother Dhavalsinh, was in charge of the concerned factory.

Ranjitsinh's panel fought the elections and got hold of the factory on the promise of repaying dues, a farm activist in Solapur told me.
Two years down the line, farmers continue to wait for their rightful dues.
