Two articles that make a fascinating juxtaposition. First, this one about a feminist who argues men should be regarded with suspicion until they prove themselves trustworthy, which hwas greeted with huge outrage. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/sep/10/french-writer-book-pauline-harmange-i-hate-men-interview
And this one, about women who voted for Trump in 2016 and have come to regret that choice and are now voting for Biden. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/white-women-trump-biden/2020/09/12/6764b89a-f167-11ea-999c-67ff7bf6a9d2_story.html?hpid=hp_convention-tt-1_womenvoters-635pm%3Ahomepage%2Fstory-ans
The latter really strong evidence, at least, for the contention that there's way too much pressure on women to give men the benefit of the doubt.
These women just looked past all the obviously terrible things about Trump because women are trained from the cradle to suppress our instincts about men, to the point where some women were like, "I should assume he means well right up until he lets 200,000 people die."
I mean, can you imagine saying, "Gosh, who knew that a man who brags about sexual assault would turn out to be such a bad person?" But that's how much some women have absorbed the training to always give men the benefit of the doubt.
