One of the most important lessons I’ve learned from #systemsthinking is the idea of “systemic complicity.”
What it means is that if you are part of a system and that system is delivering outcomes that you are not happy with then something you are doing (or are not doing) is contributing to that outcome.
It is easy to get overwhelmed by complex systems, to focus on what other people are doing (or are not doing), and to think that change is not possible.
But there is always something you can do (or stop doing) to make change happen. Even if it is really small change, sometimes small changes can have huge effects. No matter what though, you are never powerless. Use your power and make things better.
