Really weird watching Dark Knight Rises again in our current moment. Still love it, but its politics are so confused.
In reality Bane just needed to make the cops his enforcers and its a bit more on the money.
But that would ruin the Miller-lite vibe of Nolan's Batman.

And the film does a super interesting thing in recalling the comic book "breaking of the bat", which actually reminds the audience that "might is right" only works until there's a bigger arsehole who doesn't have your best interests. But then it forgets it.

Also: I do love this confused film, and Anne Hathaway, but this is also the worst attempt to throw in Catwoman without really making her interesting or doing the work.
