The western world prefers sex education for the prevention of teenage & accidental pregnancies, contraction of STDs, risk factors of sexual assaults for female gender before college or age of 18. Sex education is also a tool for schools promoting refusal skills & how to say no.
The most asked question during the incidents of rape is: but why people still get assaulted in the west? Yes, its a universal truth, sex ed isn't the cure but a preventive measure - sexual assault prevention needs to begin earlier to take proper roots everywhere in the world.
Sex ed is usually based on gender roles, adolescent challenges & responsibilities by keeping in mind about the family structure, social demographic variables including racial categories, family income, background, the environment they grew up in and religion.
As the child grows up, the sex education becomes comprehensive on how substance abuse such as alcohol and illicit drugs can play a role in sexual behaviour and assaults. The lack of sex education pushes children to turn to pornography or experiments & peer pressure.
As the research goes, multiple social & personal factors at an early age are associated with experiencing sexual assault. The reports show that having received formal education about how to say no & learning about consent becomes an important tool in preventing transgressions.
