Why #NotYourComrade? Because the comrade-adding hashtags have been filled with incredibly shitty people, be they vote-shaming liberals, anti-Semites, condescending communists, elitist anarchists, fash, trolls, scammers, etc.
Those people are #NotYourComrade, nor are they mine. They are the reason left unity is unlikely and something we're disillusioned with.

We're reminded that organizing with those nearest to you, whether physically or spiritually, is the most effective for direct action.
Regardless of whether anyone else adopts it (we don't care, this isn't time for high school cliques or popularity contests), we'll use the #NotYourComrade hashtag to discuss these issues. Because this is not a theoretical thing, it's a real and constant problem.
#NotYourComrade will become irrelevant only when we stop ignoring how big of a problem this is and start working to address it. Not by mass-follow hashtags, but by carefully finding people who share our understanding of things and respect our experiences and, frankly, wisdom.
Children who don't know shit rejecting sound praxis that's been proven effective and necessary by real world application are #NotYourComrade and never will be until they experience life and get that shit out of their heads.
If you say you believe in mutual aid, but don't take actions to provide material aid, even if not money, #NotYourComrade applies to you. If your do give money, but only after condesceding, it still applies to you - you won't get thanks for paying the insult fee, just tolerance.
And tolerance only goes so far when someone is #NotYourComrade. You can only put up with so many microaggressions and put downs.

That is why I don't think a large unity movement is realistic. Even if we all want it, our perspectives tend to vary too much for that to work.
What we need is not unity, we need solidarity. It's an important distinction and if you don't get what that distinction is or why it's vitally important, CashApp me $25 with your twitter handle and I'll give you a minimum of 500 words on what that distinction and it's importance.
