When the #blm protests started, I could not help but notice how there were cops following the protesters, just waiting for them to say something the cops didn't like. Then, the cops attacked them with tear gas & rubber bullets & batons. 1/x

Meanwhile, across town, where the "rioting & looting" that was happening & not a cop to be found. When the people in that area found the ex-cop & called the cops, it took them forever to get there. Dude died because the cops were nowhere to be found in that area. 2/x

The cops were far far away, just waiting for a protester to say anything they didn't like, so they could attack the protesters. The cops have had their fun this spring & summer, dressed up in their riot gear, beating down liberals. 3/x

Then, what happens when actual gun-toting thugs showed up to gun down liberals? They cops thanked them for being there, gave them refreshments, & let one of them go on home, after he killed two people. 4/x

Contrast, the Covid protests. Cops didn't show up in riot gear. Those protesters were armed with loaded guns. The cops didn't show up in riot gear. The cops even let those armed right wing thugs storm a state legislature, right into where lawmakers were trying to work. 5/x

Cops have made it clear, that if your politics are left of Hitler, the cops are GOING TO ATTACK YOU. If you see black people as human beings worthy of human dignity, respect, & a right to live, the cops see you as someone to attack. 6/x

The point is that cops have been gunning for a civil war/race war in America for months now. They have made it clear who they hate and who they let get by with outright murder right in front over them, cameras, everyone. 7/x

They have enjoyed wearing all their fancy 9/11 military gear and using their chemical weapons & other weapons on anyone who doesn't hate black people. When people started talking about defunding the police, they immediately went to rape, to try to scare women. 8/x

What they didn't count on was how many women have been raped, went to cops, & learned the first people who were going to blame them for being raped was going to be the cops. Women always have gotten blamed for being raped. 9/x

That pissed me the fuck off. 26 years ago, I got raped for being gay in my own rural home town. The cops told me to go to church & I had it coming for being gay. So, between knowing how the cops keep murdering black people for no reason, how cops are toward rape victims, 10/x

& how much they've been enjoying their little race war/civil war this spring and summer, beating down anyone who doesn't hate black people, like they have & hearing about those cops being shot tonight, I can't muster any empathy for them. 26 years ago, between the cops & 11/x

dealing with the kinds of bullies cops & the NC Republican Party & most of the hatemongers in my hometown are, then seeing them outright murder black people, my capacity for empathy for cops ended. I know I'm speaking only for myself here on this one, but I just don't care. 12/12
