My school district has offered grab and go meals throughout the Summer for families in need. It’s been extended to 12/31/20. Our district said it’s for families enrolled in our district, ALL families. Everyone balked and said no we’ll just leave it

for families that need it. And then a child nutritionist advocate shared on the district’s page that they want all families to at least pickup a produce box on Wednesdays, and this is why. This Grab n Go service is paid for by the Feds, they partner with local farms,

and restaurants that have been lost money because of Covid19. This program keeps school nutrition staff, farmers, chefs, and transportation drivers employed, as well as keeping food from being wasted. They would also do delivery to families. She literally begged us to use it 3/x
So if you are a family with school age kids, up to age 18, check your school district for information on their free food program. I’m going to pick up a weekly produce box, and give most of it to my niece who is a single mom with a 3yo.
