3/ perpetuating unknowingly just by following the laws, policies and culture that influenced my work. Amongst many other things, our system of policing is racist, sexist, misogynist, Eurocentric, homophobic, xenophibic... and those who fight against it...
4/ end up getting pushed out... which I believe is because of the fear that if those in power were to acknowledge these profound systemic issues - they would lose their privilege - and they don’t know who to be without that privilege...
5/ so by god, I may have lost it all, but at least I’m not still blindly working for the west van police perpetuating harm upon other people for the sake of my privilege.
