not an RPG person at all (Hollow Knight is the only other one I’ve ever loved) but Breath of the Wild is easily one of the best games I’ve ever played. it’s mind boggling how good it is

it solves the RPG problem of “how the f do I know what to buy or which stats to focus on” by just teaching you the essentials and giving you resources to experiment and play however you want
everything is so good that being mostly easy doesn’t hurt it at all

the game is so capacious and welcoming to whatever play style that it’s teaching me what I like in a game. turns out I love climbing cliffs and sneaking around
