So I'm digging into these Wisconsin Green Party nominating petitions with two different candidate addresses in Florence, South Carolina. And the results are ... odd.
Background: the Green Party submitted nomination petitions to put presidential candidate Howie Hawkins and VP candidate Angela Walker on the ballot
Walker previously was politically active in Milwaukee. She was a union official with the ATU and ran against Sheriff David Clarke. So her presence on the ticket in Wisconsin could pick up votes.
But Walker moved to South Carolina. And her nomination petitions have two different addresses on them.
One address is a hotel on TV Road in Florence, South Carolina right off Interstate 95. The other is an apartment complex across town.
The petitions were invalidated because she listed two different addresses. The Green Party, aided by a GOP law firm in Wisconsin, is contesting that outcome.
The Wisconsin Supreme Court, with a 4-3 GOP majority, appears to be siding with the Green Party. If they rule to reinstate the Hawkins/Walker ticket -- AFTER THE BALLOTS HAVE BEEN PRINTED -- it will wreak havoc with mail-in voting in Wisconsin.
A couple of national writers have touched on this issue. Here's @mjs_DC in Slate. https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2020/09/wisconsin-supreme-court-absentee-ballots-green-party.html
And here's @AmyEGardner in the Washington Post https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/wisconsin-ballot-green-party/2020/09/11/797aa4d2-f44a-11ea-bc45-e5d48ab44b9f_story.html
The Green Party argument is that Walker moved from one address to the other. That's understandable. People move. But here's the thing.
The petitions have Walker living at BOTH addresses.
At the SAME TIME.

Two petition gatherers started gathering signatures on July 31st, one with the TV Road address, one with the Royal Street address. The petition gatherers are the first signatures on each page.
SAME DAY. DIFFERENT ADDRESSES.

I downloaded the nominating petitions from @WI_Elections and now I'm trying to figure out how to share info without violating Twitter TOS
Okay now I have receipts.
