Ok ok. I’m gonna post my unpopular opinion on R*re Be*uty. Oh lawd I hope Sel*na stans don’t find this.
I just have never really felt a good feeling about celebrities. I myself, work in the industry. I see a lot of dark shit go on and wonder what’s actually the truth (which is none) when it comes to their activism.
So there has been a big boom with celebrities hopping on with creating their own lines. Which is cool! I’ve been excited for most and kind of confused by others that come off more of a cash grab. With that being said, the bare minimums are being applauded as huge accomplishments.
Having a huge shade range SHOULD be a bare minimum. We should be calling out those companies who don’t or haven’t tried more for inclusion. But I’m not too sure we should be rewarding those companies for being decent minded. It just seems ridiculous.
My personal opinion is stemmed from years of observation and my continuance of being baffled of how much people applaud bare minimum action from their faves. So here we go.
If at this point it isn’t apparent. The beauty industry breeds sooooo many toxic figures already. The correlation, I’m not too sure. It’s the same with making terrible people “famous”.
