I know that voting is all everyone wants to argue about all the time, but the biggest battleground for the “future of America” is American public schools.

When you control the curriculum, you control the people. If you wanna win, you better split your attention.
If too many white kids start learning that white people were responsible for much the brutality in history and that non-white people actually invented a ton of the shit they think white people did, their kids might have a harder time believing they’re the pinnacle.
Folks spend a whole lot of time trying to get people registered to vote etc., which is important, but far more people need to be advocating for better state-adopted curriculum. That’s a key piece of advocacy work that is lacking in K-12. Your state board of ed ppl make the rules.
Also, stop protecting teachers who don’t need to be in the classroom, and there are THOUSANDS who don’t need to be anywhere near kids. They bring their white supremacist politics into the classroom every day. They call our children bad, won’t teach them well, disrespect them...
You can’t claim to be good at developing relationships w/your students if you don’t even respect the humanity of the trans student in your classroom. Your politics will impact your relationship, & you’ll never be able to support that child truly bc you don’t value their identity.
We can talk about all the ways every single classroom in the world is political, or people can keep pretending like politics is a concept that can be separated from your very actions as a human being.
