All these people you talk to online are real. If you appreciate them, tell them.

A guy I knew online only for 18 years, he just died from covid.

I’m crying because he’s been so kind, but I never met him, and others just told me how much he appreciated us being “friends”.
We moved from a local online forum to Facebook friends about 14 years ago. He was a normal guy, a poet at heart, a wise, and most importantly, very kind person.

Others I know met him and became close friends with him.

It hurts so much I never had a chance to meet him.
Feels strange to mourn someone you didn’t really know, yet knew so well.
