I do Mood Tracking to cultivate my emotional vocabulary & awareness, in addition to my journaling & other inner work exercises.

Emotions are the language of our inner world & the bridge to the outer world.
I use Daylio to track my mood.

Recently I updated my high-level Mood Categories to be less reactive to judging external state & instead to asses my internal energy status & response.

Great => High Energy
Good => Energized
In-Between => Off-Balance
Not Good => Dejected
Horrible => Depressive
Making my mood categories to be energy-oriented allows me to make Energy-based goals that are aligned with activities where the target is internal.

i.e
I want to feel more courageous.
I want to reduce the things that impede joy.
Energy-based goals allow you to build habits that fuels your internal energy stores on a physical, cognitive, spiritual & emotional level.
High Energy

- Proud
- Courageous
- Amazed
- Joy

These are Moods I'm working towards.
Energized

- Optimistic
- Grateful
- Awe
- Peaceful

These are Moods I want to be the baseline.
Off-Balance

- Disappointed
- Anxious
- Frustrated
- Withdrawn

These are Moods that are early-warning signals.
Dejected

- Lonely
- Remorseful
- Numb
- Mad
- Stressed

These are Moods where based on my personality, I need to de-load obligations, get in nature, and ask for help.
Depressive

- Overwhelmed
- Afraid
- Grief
- Infuriated
- Helpless

These are Moods where I have had multiple values & boundary breakdowns & need to unplug, relax, actively spend most of my time in High Energy Activities & decrease Off-Balance Activities.
It's important to resist the urge to over-analyze & rush your emotions.

It will take time & a lot of listening to your body.

Using tools like this are helpful, but also unnatural to some degree and it will be helpful to train your intuition to handle most of the load.
Software will not replace your gut, mind & heart.

But it can act as a crutch while you heal and find balance.
