Yea practice is a different, longer, more unpredictable beast. Law school & bar prep were stressful in their own ways, but you were given the answers. Your books, your professors, your lecturers, SOMEONE had an answer for you & quickly. In practice, that mostly ain’t it. Lmao. https://twitter.com/yes_tojess/status/1304825031940284422
You gotta figure most of it out on your own. My job is literally to figure it out because no one knows the answer lmaooo. And sometimes until that opinion or order comes out, you don’t even know if you’ve figured it out correctly lmaoooo.
Also, there was an “end” to school & bar prep. You knew when each class, semester, and exam would be over. In practice? You can be on a case for YEARS lmao. You don’t know when or if that bad boy is going to trial, settle, etc.
And while maybe not having some big scary exam to take seems better, there are little exams (assignments) that you have to pass almost every day. Deadlines you must meet. Hours you must bill. Oh and reviews 🙃.
Additionally, in school and bar prep, you pretty much determine what your schedule will be (for better or worse lol). Ain’t none of that in practice. What needs to get done determines what you’ll be doing at ANY given hour of any given day. And I DO mean ANY given hour/day😂.
So yea, practice is its own very unique beast. I happen to love it, but I’m also a masochist lmao. And while I would never go back to law school or bar prep cause they were hard too, I certainly wouldn’t call them easier lol. They’re just hard for different reasons.
Meant to say I wouldn’t call them *harder*. Whoops lol
