I really don't like it when kids are told to go change their parents' politics before talking online, because it makes it seem like it's the failure of the kids that their parents have bad politics etc. and that's their primary political responsibility.
In any case, it's probably the most futile of fights. Parents have egos and don't like it when kids tell them they're wrong. Making it seem like they have to correct their parents' politics just makes people feel politically worthless because it's an exercise in futility.
Btw this is much worse for girls. Please stop doing this if you do this.
