1/ When we are in control of the puck, there is always a seam for a pass. This is multidirectional, in front, behind, or diagonal.
2/ It's important to understand that our teammates w/o the puck must work to get into these seams/areas of space for a pass reception opportunity in order to control the flow of offense.
3/ The problem we encounter is, is that too many players stay or skate into the dead and not the live space.

This is why the player without the puck must scan the ice constantly to find these small areas of space to help his teammate with the puck.
4/ If we are aware as a player, we will start to realise that passing seams are everywhere, because these seams are always appearing, disappearing, and re-appearing.

The reason why this pattern continually happens, is because the game of hockey is fluid and not static.
5/ Moving to find space and create seams, coupled with puck movement to exploit them, is what will dictate your speed of play.
