Every Goliath was once a David !! Every Unicorn was once a startup !!

Does it not intrigue you how they reached those levels ? Only by reading their stories you can find the inspiration to dare something similar.

A Thread on a few of such Giants of last decade !!
Instagram- Its a story of founders who were very clear as to what their offering was to their customers. They never let the user or their investors feel that the platform was lacking in anything.
They had clear cut answers for-

1. Why would a customer install Instagram ?
2. Why would he invite his friends on to the platform?

Founders very well knew how to build the product. Cut down what people don't like and mature features that they like.
In a world where people struggle to find their PMF(Product Market Fit), Instagram did it with such elegance and style in a domain that was hotly contested.
Netflix - It is my personal favourite. Not many organisations have the vision to reincarnate themselves the way Netflix did.

If you connect the dots looking backwards into Netflix's story you feel that this organisation spent all its existence in stealth.
There are so many firsts in Netflix's story, it be the subscription model, its recommendation engine, Streaming service or creating original content. Every idea was much ahead of its time.
Pinterest- It is a story of an organisation that demonstrated how one should ideally go about maturing a product for cherry picked early adopters before deciding to scale it.

There are some tough lessons as well, it really hurt Pinterest to delay monetisation for far too long.
Quora- It demonstrates how quickly WOM (Word Of Mouth) can help an organisation scale if done right. Quora's site going down due to load shows the impact media can play if you prove utility of a product.
