The Challenge of Clan Thinking and Living

In a society with many points of views, causes, contributions and groups the challenge of clan thinking and living is that it sacrifices the well-being of a broader collective, and the opportunity for transformation.
Clan thinking and living disengages from having inclusive discussions where opposing and supportive views can contend. Instead of evaluating the value of an idea or an argument, the aim is to diminish the one who delivers the message.
So, because you do not look like me, sound like me, say the things I like to hear or make me feel comfortable, you become a problem.

It is a kind of elitism where it is impossible for us to be wrong, have flawed views or consider that someone else might be right.
Another critical consequence is that it locks us into one reality, when our society consists of multiple realities that we must able to see and confront to be able to respond effectively.
This is one of the reasons that apathy grows, social issues blossom and solidarity stagnates because many are content to live im these bubbles.
Step outside of yourself. Talk to people you have never spoken to before. Listen to a variety of views and perspectives when weighing an issue.
Before you reduce someone's contribution to their bias, ask yourself whether you are being biased in your judgement and most importantly whether their statements are true and can be substantiated.

Any clan that cannot be challenged or tested cannot provide growth or truth.
