Here is the thread on why John Stockton isn’t better than Isiah Thomas https://twitter.com/ceoofkobefans/status/1304809130549555205
Stockton never averaged more than 17 points.Isiah did 5 times. One of those times he averaged 13.9 assists a game. In that year his second best player was god damn Kelly Tripucka
John Stockton played beside Karl Malone who scored probably 90% of his points off of PnR by Stockton

Their FG% was barely any different. They both barely shot 3s. Their % was only off by 6% which isn’t that big of a deal considering IT averaged 7 more attempted shots a game. In his highest scoring year in ‘82 he averaged 22.9 points on 47% shooting
Stockton’s highest scoring year were in ‘89 and ‘90 where he shot only 4 and 3% better. So since we got “IT is a better scorer out of the way” let’s get to passing
As soon as Stockton got drafted in ‘84 he played besides one of the best scoring big men ever. 36k total points. 15806 assists times 2 equals 31612 points. That’s only 5k less points than Malone ended having. Interesting
Sure you can make the argument that Stockton was a better passer especially since his TOV/assists ratio is slightly better, but if we’re being honest, how hard is it to assist on constant pick and rolls with a big man who’s known to be insanely good in the paint?
Stockton constantly underperformed in the playoffs, constantly relied on his pick and rolls and assists which led to the jazz not making the finals until the 96-97 season where John Stockton in the last quarter of game 6 in the finals shot 0-1 while playing 12 minutes
Next year, same thing. Game 6 shot 2-5 in the last quarter with 9 minutes played and 1-3 from 3 with a TO,and again, as always, got outplayed by Karl Malone. By the way, game 5 of those same finals when they were up by 2 after the 3rd.John shot 0-0 with 12 minutes played in the 4th
And, as always got outplayed by malone since all Stockton did was pass the ball and that’s it. He didn’t do anything else other than pass the ball. The only argument you can make what Stockton actually did better than IT was play defense and that’s it.
He wasn’t a closer, nor a scorer, which led to him never winning ring. I know his post had nothing to do with Stockton but, I mean we all know he thinks fucking STEPH CURRY, you know The best shooter ever, is not as good as Stockton
