THREAD, please READ to the end:
Enough whinging please. It’s time for unity
Remainers, we must stop becoming everything we claim to oppose
1) Brexit is a policy error, not a universal human rights crime
2) Brexiters are as sincere as Remainers & love the UK as much as we do https://twitter.com/lbc/status/1303000170481713154

3) Confusing the above upends our moral framework, creating a world in which Trump is boycotted by former Labour leader @jeremycorbyn, while genocidal dictator Xi Jinping was hugged by him
4) We Remainers lost Brexit. Constitutionally, PM Johnson has an 80 seat majority and a mandate. We must now get over it & work to unify the country around a new Post-Brexit Remainer vision, like a Remainer plan B
5) Opposing Brexit in principle (not the details of *how* but the mere fact it is happening) is now a waste of everyone’s time. It is opposition for opposition’s sake & it surrenders the debate, and our future, to the side you claim to dislike.
Who stands to gain from that?
Who stands to gain from that?
6) So Remainers, if you could not work with - say - Mr Brexit @Nigel_Farage in order to stop a genocide (as I did with pushing the Uyghur petition) merely because of his role in a now settled national policy dispute, I question your moral compass
Meanwhile, the now leader of the Remain supporting Lib Dems @EdwardJDavey did not sign and did not support the petition while I was on hunger strike. This is a huge civilisational morality failure. Not merely a *major* policy error
Mr Davey betrayed himself & his party @LibDems
Mr Davey betrayed himself & his party @LibDems
7) If you want to still be angry about something, there is an anti-genocide cause awaiting your support & Uyghurs desperately need your misplaced rage
8) Unlike Brexit, that really *is* a human rights morality issue. But you’d never guess, judging our national reactions to both.
We have become blissfully self-absorbed. And that’s precisely how the “privilege” we regularly bang on about works.
Think about it.
