Seeing some Sweden triumphalism again. Here's a reminder: while Sweden didn't "lock down" in the way the US did, they still have many prohibitions the US does not have.
Kansas City had an NFL game on Thursday night that is prohibited in Sweden. They have prohibitions on all gatherings, including outdoor, of fifty people or more. No sports, no concerts, no weddings, no religious services.
No political rallies, no movie theaters, no parades or motorcycle rallies, no farmers markets.
Sweden also has a strict travel ban: nobody from outside the EU (plus a few European non-EU countries like the UK & Switzerland) is allowed in. The US has nothing even approximating the stringency of this travel ban.
There's this idea promulgated by COVID skeptics that nothing changed in Sweden. It's absolutely not true. Most of the US's restrictions at this point are on the level of, if not *less* (NFL games with thousands in the stands!), strict than Sweden's restrictions.
