Ghost town has an overtly somber tone to it; the chorus from Kid Cudi is despairing both lyrically and sonically - the slightly out-of-tune vocals and the words, “everything I try just takes you further from me” set the desperately sad tone of the track.
The performance from Kanye is noticeably held back, as if he’s repressing the myriad emotions he’s feeling.
On top of this, the guitars give the track a rock-opera feel to it.

Despite the exclamation that they “feel nothing anymore” and “feel free”, the irony here is desperately sad. And thus ends the track.
‘Freee’ acts as the part 2 to ‘Ghost Town’. The track is far more bombastic in tone as the pair repeatedly explain the “i feel free” rhetoric. However, the lack of melancholy gives the phrase a polar opposite meaning to that of ‘Ghost Town’
My interpretation would be that the pair of tracks are an exploration into the idea of bipolar disorder. The sudden changing and meandering of emotions. While holding the same idea, both tracks convey totally different meanings, thus the idea of bipolar is reflected in the music.
