I'm convinced more than ever fear/anxiety/imminent danger is fueling the disinformation for the Oregon wildfires.

People are scrambling for answers and they share because they care, even if they aren't right.

Please give corrections but also give grace. It's scary here.

For the love of all the is holy DO NOT share any articles about looters/antifa/arsonists in connection with our wildfires.

Our firefighters are only concerned with human life, meaning they aren't focused on structures or going on the offensive.

Everytime you stoke MORE fear with bad info people go back into unsafe areas! This will result in innocent people getting shot and firefighters risking their lives to save people in zones that have been evacuated 3 days ago.

Validate feelings of Oregonians at risk but please do your part to continue to keep people safe by NOT spreading disinformation.

I forgot to mention, law enforcement officers are having to go back into unsafe areas to patrol for "looters" because of the public outcry from fake news. It's not just firefighters at risk.

I'm scared too. I've never had to experience a weather/natural event like this. Loss of life reports are already coming in. I just want everyone to know fake news has real consequences. Be safe.
